This is something that does not come to mind when one thinks of a golf holiday destination: South Africa. But the country boasts of beautiful and disturbing golf courses that are located in some of the interesting terrains. Goose Valley Golf Club

Goose Valley Golf Club is situated in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa, in the famous garden route where the golf course is surrounded by the Indian Ocean and the beautiful coastal forest. This course was designed by Gary Player and the total yardage from the back tees is almost 7000 yards. Another famous hole is the par-3 5th hole, which is played in front of the ocean shoreline. The last highlight is the 12th hole, which includes a canyon on which the shot must be hit.

This course has provided a home to many professional tournaments in the past, evidence of the strictly professional design. Besides golf, the visitors can relax at the resort or take part in a number of activities that are common in this coastal area.

Serengeti Golf and Wildlife Estate

If you are looking for an out-of-the-ordinary golfing experience, then head to the Serengeti Golf and Wildlife Estate, which is just outside the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Due to the geographical location of the golf course, which is located in South Africa, as you are concentrating on your game, things like lions, leopards, elephants and other wildlife creatures are likely to be seen around the course. The championship layout was designed by Ron Fream, Golfplan USA.

Designed with water hazards and contoured greens, even the most skilled golfers are guaranteed a challenge. The 16th hole is a par-5, which goes towards Mt.
