The CSIR NET examination consists of a single paper with three parts: Part A, Part B, and Part C. The paper is held in computer-based format.

Section A: General Aptitude 

  • Common for all subjects

The CSIR NET is held in five subjects: 

1. Life Sciences

2. Chemical Sciences
